A white stork for Ukraine.
This large scale painting was begun in February 2021, within days of the start of the war in Ukraine. It features a White stork (the Ukrainian national bird, a symbol of protection) on it’s nest of twigs which morph into a road map of Ukraine.
The piece was intended to be used as a fundraiser for refugees in the North East and was donated to the Action Foundation, Newcastle for auction during refugee week in June 2023.
